Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence Statement
Crohn’s and Colitis Canada recognizes that artificial intelligence tools can support more efficient, creative, and accessible ways of working when used responsibly. Our use of AI is guided by human oversight, privacy, accuracy, transparency, and alignment with our mission, values, and obligations to the communities we serve.
AI may be used in a controlled manner (in possible environments) to support tasks such as brainstorming, drafting, editing, summarizing, tone adaptation, and the creation of initial written or visual content. AI-generated outputs are treated as draft material only and are reviewed, edited, and approved by the appropriate employee or team before using them.
We do not use AI as a replacement for professional judgment, decision-making, or human accountability. We also do not enter confidential, sensitive, personal, donor, employee, partner, proprietary, or private health information into AI tools. Any AI-assisted public-facing content must follow the appropriate internal review and approval process before it is shared.
Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is committed to using emerging technologies in a way that is secure, ethical, transparent, and responsible.
